Here's the lyrics to a new Country song by Terri Clark. A friend of mine said each time he hears the song he thinks of me. I finally heard the song the other day and found it to be so sweet and relative in many ways. Thought I'd share it here.

I hope that at some point in the future (not the near future) the last verse will hold true for me.

Thanks Natie for sharing!

He said goodbye from the edge of the porch
like she'd been some casual friend
he said "you're better off with out me
i'm not what you need"
like her momma had said about him
he started the car
pulled out of the drive
didn't waste any time lookin' back
she watched him go
thinkin' even a stranger
would show more compassion than that

she could've cried but she didn't have time
she had a baby to feed
a pink blanket to find
to rock their little one to sleep
she could've laid in bed for hours
giving misery the power
but she didn't have time

she got a sitter, she got a job
'cause she had a promise to keep
her day was a factory and evening survival
at night was exhaustion and sleep
sometimes she felt life was passing her by
and watching was all she could do
her friends said "you gotta get outta the house
and maybe you'll meet someone new"

she could've tried
but she didn't have time
she had a five year old to feed
she had ballet class, piano lessons
and t-ball little league
she could've laid awake for hours
giving lonely nights the power
but she didn't have the time

not time where would she find the time
to trust a man again
not time for that flat tire
a crowded parking lot and then
not time to just have coffee with the man
who got her tire fixed
she was thinking gosh he's handsome
when he asked do you have kids

she could've lied
but she didnt have time
all she said was "she's five"
he said "i saw the car seat I love kids
does she have your eyes?"
and they sat and talked for hours
giving destiny it's power
she could've been afraid
to fall in love that night
but she didn't have time

she could've been afraid
to fall in love that night
but she didn't have time

I am so sorry you have had and are going through this. You are so brave and strong!

Please know that it’s ok to have days where you don’t feel either of the two. I don’t know what you’re going through, but He does and He always provides even in our darkest days. He’s always there. I love you.

The song is beautiful, and in the end it will all be right, just like the song.

This is why I HATE country music...it ALWAYS makes me cry. Amber, although I only understand your situation through what is written here on your blog, I'm sorry for the things that have hurt you.

God bless.

I guess I am seeing the "new" you, because I don't see you this sad at all. Like you told me, maybe you are through the hard times and are ready to get a flat tire. I have a song that someone told me about recently. I'll post the lyrics on my blog.

Hang in there. BTW I can fix a mean tire.

I'm not sad. Please don't feel sorry for me. That's the last thing I want from anyone. This is a song of hope. It's a strong woman taking care of business and moving forward. I didn't see anything sad in it. Yes, I was hurt, but I didn't stop my life at that hurting point. I mourned. I moved on. It's not the first time I've been hurt, nor will it be the last, I'm sure. Our situations are not as important as how we handle those situations. Seriously, there's no reason to feel sorry to me. I'm golden!

Thank you Peter, for offering to change my tire, but I'm quite capable, and not ready to relinquish that control yet.

Amber, please don’t think I feel sorry for you. (Well I do a little, but that’s just natural because I’m your friend and I don’t want to see you having to go through all this.) In saying this I don’t feel as if I have to walk on egg shells around you in fear that you may have a melt down. Let’s just go back to my original statement.

You are so brave and strong!

I like it. Of course...I like country music. It always relates to someone. It's so nice to have our situations put into words. Yes...it can be sad at times but you are an overcomer!
