I've been tagged.

Four jobs I've had:

I've really not had much more than four jobs, so I'll name them all.

1. My first job was as a restaurant hostess at Bonanza

2. My second job was doing sales at Living Well Lady (a ladies only fitness center)

3. My third job was working at the Humane Society

Funny thing is I never quit one job to start the next. Instead I just took job after job, until I was working all three jobs and going to school full time as a 10th grader in high school.

4. My fourth job (after quitting the previous three) was working as a front desk assistant at an animal clinic.

5. My fifth job was as a waitress at Tony Roma's Restaurant.

6. My sixth job was as a secretary at an accounting firm.

7. My seventh job was as a secretary at an accounting firm (in Nashville). That job evolved into me being the Marketing Coordinator and Campus Recruiting Coordinator.

8. My eighth job (while still working at the firm) was a holiday position with GAP. It was just so I could get the discount :)

9. My ninth job is now as Marketing Manager with a healthcare company.

Four movies I could watch over and over again:

1. Save the Last Dance

2. Annie

3. Grease

4. Jerry Maguire

Four places I've lived:

1. Miami

2. Nashville

Sorry to disappoint. That's all I've got.

Four t.v. shows I love to watch:

1. Crossing Jordan

2. Law & Order:SVU

3. CSI

4. Desperate Housewives (although last season was better than this season)

Four places I've been on vacation:

1. Bahamas

2. Florida Keys

3. North Carolina

4. Miami

Having moved away from home, my vacation time is typically spent returning home (Miami) to see my family. So, therefore, I don't have a plethera of vacation spots to offer up here.

Four websites I visit daily:

1. Friends blogs

2. Google

3. Snapfish (not daily, but frequently)

4. allrecipes (not daily, but frequently)

Four of my favorite foods:

1. Sushi

2. Corned beef & cabbage

3. Any seafood

4. Mexican (any of it)

Four places I'd rather be right now:

1. In the Florida Keys

2. In bed fast asleep beneath my cozy down comforter on this cold wet night.

3. Having dinner with certain company

4. Snuggled on the couch for a movie with certain company

Four people I'm tagging:

1. Girl

2. Tisra

I'm stopping short on this one, as I don't have a plethera of blogger friends, and Mary's already tagged most of them.

20/70

I took Madison for an eye exam yesterday after her pediatrician's recommendation based on results to tests performed at her office. Turns out my poor child has moderate to high hyperopia (far-sightedness). Her vision is 20/70!!!! I never knew. So she picked out some new stylish specs and once they made them and placed them on her face for the first time, her instant response was "Wow, I can see!" Boy did I feel like the scum of the earth mother. I never realized she couldn't see! Her new found sight was so exciting throughout the evening as she realized all the things around her that she never could see before. On the drive home she was reading business names and signs that she's never done before. Apparently she never read them before because she couldn't see them, and now that she could see them, they captured her attention fully. "Look mom, that says Coffee (as we pass Starbucks)." Her air hockey score improved tremendously now that she could actually see the puck.

Check out her new look. She picked them out herself and I think she did a mighty fine job.

Another year gone.

Another year begins. Time to evaluate the progress on our goals from last year and time to set new goals. I'm not a resolution person, but I do believe in having some goals . . . realistic goals. I don't get wrapped up in centering my life around goals. Last year I ended 2004 and entered 2005 with a goal of writing an article and having it published. Never met that goal, unless you consider my blogging to be "published" articles. I kept it in my mind all year, and due to one circumstance or the other, never did find the time to commit to seeing it through. So that goal remains on my "to do list" for 2006. I also made a personal goal of making at least five new friends. I'm happy to say that I more than met that goal. Other things that were accomplished this year without setting goals . . . I have a brand new kitchen completely designed by me. I have acquired a brand new career opportunity which I will start in less than 2 weeks. I've met someone that I've maintained interest in for greater than one or two dates. (That one's big for me.) I was nominated for Volunteer of the Year (out of over 900 volunteers) with Junior Achievement and made it to the top five finalists. My softball team won all three seasons. I took over the campus recruiting role for my office with no prior experience or training and made it the most successful campus recruiting year for us to date. I watched Madison graduate from Kindergarten. I turned 30 and it didn't kill me. It was a great year.

Enter 2006. New job on the horizon. What do I want to accomplish in the next 12 months? I want to earn the respect of the new company I'm going to work for and feel at the end of the year that they value me as much as the firm does now. I want to make at least five new friends. I want to maintain my commitment to the gym and regular, consistent fitness. I want to travel to either Chicago or NYC if even for just a long weekend. I want to complete my pool project. I still want to find the time to write my article and get it published. For now, I'll focus on leaving this job and learning a new one.

I love the beginning of a new year. It's a chance to start all over again regardless of what happened in the previous year. It's a new beginning. It's another chance. As we all do, I enter this new year with hopes and aspirations for great successes. Wish me luck!
